The Szergej withstood the test of time. Their numbers heavily reduced as they were replaced with more modern, more economical, more environmentally friendly solutions. But even on this day, there are more than 80 vehicles dashing on the railway network of Hungary. Three new Szergejs from the 2000s arrived to the Modellgyár, which we’d like to present to you now.
Most of the ones that are still active are remotorized versions, the renovated models have a Caterpillar engine built-in, but these are equipped with the original Kolomna 14D40. We have three orange Szergejs available at Modellgyár from the new millennium, MÁV Start’s no. 628-265 engine, and MÁV Trakció’s M62-231, with either the original, or the new, “phone number” running number.
Making the Szergej:
We can create our model from a Gützold or Roco branded H0 Szergej. If that’s done, we carefully paint and label it, so it looks just like the original.
